Oman frankincense resin (Boswellia sacra), standard Hojary (Hojari) grade frankincense handpicked from the Dhofar region of Oman, are considered by many to be the finest frankincense resin in the world. The first choice Hojary resins are primarily the smaller selected white and citrus colored tears. The Dhofar region of Oman, with their arid climate, provide ideal growing conditions for fine quality frankincense resin. Standard Hojary frankincense resins produce beautiful bright citrus aroma with slight underlying woody and balsamic tones. Of the frankincense resins from around the world, Hojary is the most sought after of all.
In the past many of the trees in Oman have been over-harvested and not properly rested, forcing harvesters to travel further into the desert for quality resins. Economic growth and the expansion of towns, homes and businesses are also encroaching upon trees. The long-term survival of the international frankincense trade of Oman resins is now in the hands of the Sultanate of Oman. The government has taken control of the entire process and is now releasing stock on a very limited basis.We have been doing our best to obtain resins but can only import small shipments.

hojary Frankinscense, 1st choice
You asked for it... I am dismayed that what you once called "superior" is now, likley due to trees running low, a renamed, YET remains-- an average Frankinscense scent. "Royal" Hojary has tripled in price, since the "scentsofearth" changed hands. I naively believed incense would stay named as always, & prices would increase reasonably. The photo resembles "Royal Hojary" , not the "1st choice"I received.

The smell is very pleasant but can easily become overwhelming if you burn too much of it. So only use small amounts at first. Very long lasting as well. 10/10 would recommend.

Not a Fan
I was prompted to buy this by an email advertising it. I was disappointed because it smells quite like petrol and leaves a ton of residue. I have noticed that most reviews recommend it. The difference might be because I use a resin burner instead of charcoal. I recommend Hojary / Fusoos / Superior Grade if you're using a resin burner. I will still keep it for sachets, etc.

The aroma of this frankincense on low heat is very rich. It is my favorite right now as I learned on low heat the aroma is more flowery and pure. I carry some around in my pocket and roll it around in my hand also, its a good way to release the fragrance in places I am not allowed to burn. Highly recommend just about any product from soe
