One of the most utilized resins in the incense trade is myrrh (Commiphora myrrha) from Kenya. Harvested in Northern Kenya on Ogadain Land. One of the finest myrrh resins available and is used widely in incense, perfumes and herbal medicines. This powder is hand crushed.

This small scrubby tree from the Middle East and northeast Africa produces a precious gum which has been traded for thousands of years. In the Christian Bible, it is a gift to baby Jesus from the visiting Magi.

Myrrh has been used for centuries to inspire prayer and meditation. It has also been used to improve digestion and boost the immune system. Various traditions have used it to treat coughs, gum disease, wounds, candida and the treatment of skin diseases. The deep reddish-brown resin is especially important for oral health. Marinate in water for a few days in an enclosed container for use as a dental rinse. Also encourages circulation, simulates the immune system, and encourages a woman's natural cycle.

This is great in makko incense. It's stronger than other types of myrrh, so you'll likely need to use less of it.
