Our Santalum album pieces have a very high oil content. As soon as you open the Mysore quality sandalwood, you’ll experience the unsurpassable aroma you may not have enjoyed in years. Sandalwood from the Mysore region of India has always been considered the finest in the world. But since 2015, no sandalwood has come out of the Mysore region, primarily due to extreme overharvesting. We most likely will not see any until at least 2035. Meanwhile, an area Indonesia that has the same soil and climate conditions as Mysore has started exporting sandalwood which experts agree has the same consistency and beautiful scent as Mysore.
Pieces vary in size & weight, so the amount of pieces per ounce will vary. These sticks cannot be lit like Palo Santo sticks. Shaving pieces from the main stick or chunk is advised and placing on charcoal like any other wood.

Very high-quality sandalwood. Dense, sparkly/spicy, almost a note of mintiness. I've tried several grades of sandalwood on my electric heater and this is the best one going.
