Patchouli has excellent fixative properties and mixes very well with vetiver, sandalwood and myrrh. A recent shortage of patchouli primarily due to disease has driven the price up.

I just started smudging so still learning. Leaves are small enough so they burn on the charcoal very nice. I was impressed with the beautiful, calming scent that remained long after the burn.
