As our customer demand rises for the finest frankincense available, we offer the most sought after frankincense in the world, Light Green Hojary (Boswellia sacra). While in high demand, it is low in supply. The tears are small, pale white or yellow, with a green tint when held in light. Coloration varies from harvest to harvest, due to environmental issues. The Sultanate of Oman tends to not release most of the darker green, which was the Royal Green Hojary of previous years.
The primary reason for the small amount available is this particular Hojary is harvested from the very top of the tree. In addition, there isn't necessarily a harvest of the Green every year due to climate conditions. Light Green Hojary offers you the lemon, lime and eucalyptus scent that has been treasured for centuries. It is said to be the ultimate in mind, body and soul purification.
In the past many of the trees in Oman have been over-harvested and not properly rested, forcing harvesters to travel further into the desert for quality resins. Economic growth and the expansion of towns, homes and businesses are also encroaching upon trees. The long-term survival of the international frankincense trade of Oman resins is now in the hands of the Sultanate of Oman. The government has taken control of the entire process and is now releasing stock on a very limited basis, which is why we only receive small shipments.
