Myrrh Gum Resin -
Commiphora myrrha - 1st Choice
certified organic gum resin from Somalia, available in chunks or pea sized form.
This small scrubby tree from the Middle East and northeast Africa produces a precious gum which has been traded for thousands of years. In the Christian Bible, it is a gift to baby Jesus from the visiting Maji.
Myrrh has been used to improve digestion and boost the immune system. Various traditions have used it to treat coughs, gum disease, wounds, candida and the treatment of skin diseases. This deep reddish-brown resin is especially important for oral health. Marinate in water for a few days in an enclosed container for use as a dental rinse. Also encourages circulation, simulates the immune system, and encourages a woman's natural cycle.
Myrrh has been used since antiquity to inspire prayer and meditation, and to fortify and revitalize the spirit.
